How To Make A Hat .......
50 SUCKS!
 50 SUCKS! is the theme. I am going to teach you how to make a hat
that is simple, but yet gets the point across loud and clear.
Keep in mind, that you could use 30 sucks, 40 sucks, etc.
Here is what you will need:
- A hat to build on. I like to use a kids plastic hat
from the dollar store. You can use anything, as long as it
is hard and sturdy enough to hold weight.
- 50 Tootsie Pops. Again, you can use dum dums, or any other
kind of sucker. Your choice. Also, if the theme is 40 sucks,
use 40 suckers.
- Styrofoam. I like to use half of a big ball, but you could use
florist foam with the sides cut down at an angle.
- Hot glue
- Premade letters and numbers for your message. You can also
print your message off the computer.
- ribbon, tulle, or anything you want to add to your hat to
make it more festive.
Glue styrofoam to the top of hat, making sure it is centered.
Start placing suckers into the foam, using a dab of glue.
Add your message, ribbon and any decorative items you wish.
Note: This can get very heavy. Test it on yourself. If it wants
to slide one way or the other, add foam or batting to the inside.
You can also add a tie string to tie under the chin. If you decide
to do this, it should be stapled on before you start putting anything
on the hat.
