How To Make Cake Frosting

.....simply, but yet give that little extra punch

You've got the cake. Now you need some ideas on how to make cake frosting that will add that extra punch. Something tasty, yet colorful, but a little bit out of the ordinary.

Did I mention Simple? For me Simplicity is the key, especially when you are busy with kids, a job, or whatever it is that makes your days so busy.

Here are a few of my favorites. These are the recipes that I use on cakes that I like to call 'frost and go'.



Easy Icing Recipes For The Cake Decorator



If you are a cake decorator or learning how to decorate cakes, you will enjoy these easy icing recipes especially for cake decorating. You will find a recipe for frosting your decorated cakes, to frosting for making flowers, or even the frosting you need to do cartooning on a cake. Everything you need is right here. Enjoy!



Frost 'n' Go Recipes




Kool Aid Frosting

Here is what you need:

  • 1-2 pkg. unsweetened Kool Aid (desired color)
  • 2 lb. bag powdered sugar
  • milk- enough for desired consistency

Mix ingredients by hand, adding milk a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Experiment with different colors.




Chocolate Frosting

Here is what you need:

  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine all ingredients. Beat well. Enjoy.





Peppermint Frosting

Here is what you need:

  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup hard peppermint candy (crushed)
  • 2 - 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • dash of salt

Mix together milk, salt and cream cheese. Gradually add powdered sugar. Stir in peppermint.

This is most excellent on chocolate cake.
