Fun Indoor Activities For Kids

... should include simple to make modeling chocolate!

now you know . . . .It has been scientifically proven that stroking a cat can lower one's blood pressure!

Use modeling chocolate for a variety of indoor activities for kids. Kids can make edible gifts for any occasion. The creations can be used for decorating cakes, or prizes for special events.

You can make homemade gag gifts. Create something that will make the recipient laugh that pertains to them specifically. It could be a fish for the great fisherman, a necklace for mom, or bugs. Whatever you want it to be.

Turn your modeling chocolate into unique inexpensive gifts. Wrap them up in nice packages and the recipient will love you for making such a special gift for them.

Here Is What You Need

  • 10 ounces chocolate chips or almond bark
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • paste food color (optional)
  • microwave safe bowl or double boiler

Melt the chocolate in the microwave for about a minute. Stir. If chocolate is not completely melted, return chocolate to the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Stir until smooth. If you don't have a microwave, place the chocolate in a double broiler over hot water and stir until melted.

When the chocolate is melted, add the corn syrup and blend. Pour the mixture onto a waxed paper sheet.

Spread the chocolate out until it's about 1/2-inch thick. Cover loosely with waxed paper and let it stiffen for at least two hours or overnight. The chocolate will become very pliable.

Use the modeling chocolate like clay. Use your imagination and have fun. You could even use cookie cutters, molds, other candy to decorate or for eyes of characters. The possibilites are endless. This isn't just indoor activities for kids because adults will have just as much fun!

Your edible creations will harden after a few days. Store them in a cool, dry place.
